I find it fitting that the most exciting obstacle race the UK has ever seen has also caused so much upheaval in the league tables, with two out of the four tables having new leaders...
In the main table, Mudstacle's Ross Brackley did well to come seventh in a very competitive field at Toughest which has enabled him to retain his position at the top of the league, but its all change around him as we have three new entrants into the top ten. Most notable is Ross MacDonald from BMF Race Team who goes straight in to his most comfortable and familiar position of 2nd place. David Haw from Team Pro-Fit joins his team-mate James Burton in the top 10. David is also the only racer in the under 20s age category in the top 100 so he's clearly one to watch in future seasons.
Previous Masters league winner Dave Rogers also completed his third race pushing him up to 4th in the main table and taking the top spot in the Masters League that has now had three different leaders in the last three weeks (with one of them now down to fifth). This is amping up to be an epic showdown between Rogers, Wilde, Gilbert, Brownlee and Appleton as we approach the final races of the season.
In the ladies table, last season's winner Freya Martin from BMF Race Team suffered from controversy at Toughest when a marshall error dropped her from second to fourth, but that result still takes her to the top of the table, ousting Toni Cupit who has been sat there comfortably since the season started. Hayley Forest completed her third race and moves into third place.
Conor Hancock's great second place at Toughest is only his second league result of the season, but he's sitting on a strong 270 points so a win at either Dirty Weekend or Nuclear would take him to the top.
Mudstacle Team's newest recruit Lilly Hunt (of Ninja Warrior fame) did amazingly at her OCR debut, finishing 9th overall and 2nd Brit at Toughest, but its a bit too late for her to make an impact on this season. She's definitely one to watch in the Summer season though.
There are only three league races left this season, so make sure you get your final points at Vision Wild Run, Dirty Weekend or Nuclear Rush.
