If the Olympics has 'Super Saturday' when many exciting events take place in one day, then the equivalent in the Mudstacle League Summer season has to be 'Super September' which kicks off with a trio of spectacular events. Coming up this weekend we have the Nuts Challenge, Spartan Race's Peterborough Super and Rat Race's Man Vs Mountain - all of which carry high points for the top places.
Ahead of the coming weekend, the league tables have been updated following Dirty Dozen London East Last week. View the tables here and read the news below...
The biggest piece of news is that three times league champion Freya Martin from the BMF Race Team (pictured above) has moved into top position in the ladies table. I dont think anybody would be offended when I say that Freya is in a league of her own when it comes to the female competition in obstacle racing in the UK and she's proven that again by moving to an enormous 70 points clear of the next highest lady in the league.
Tristan Steed from Muddy Kit won Dirty Dozen London East which moves him into first position in the Mens U40 table and 2nd overall, sitting just five points behind Jason Burgess. Dave Rogers from Mudstacle Machines came third at DD which moves him into third overall and second in the Masters table. We also have a new entry into the league from James Bosher who jumps straight into fifth overall and third in the U40s table after his second place at DD London East was added to his strong scores from DD London South and Survival of the Fittest from earlier in the season.
In the Team League, Rob Derrick's result at Dirty Dozen has meant that Team Pro-Fit have overtaken Team Mudstacle to move into second position by just two points. The Mudstacle Machines retain the top place and increase their total, giving them a scoring average of 125 points which is seriously high. RPCC in fourth place are starting to pull away from Team Kitbrix and Team JD but its still very close.
The events of this coming weekend could shake it all up again though, so keep an eye out for next week's update!
