Spring 2017 Season Ladies Champion -
Andrea Berquez (Team Kitbrix)

Andrea has officially been the busiest athlete in the Mudstacle League this season, clocking up 10 races and 1223 points. Out of the ten races, she won five of them and hit the podium at two others. She was second in the league tables for most of this year, but two of her best victories came in the last two races of the season - narrowly edging out Natasha Mansell at Survival of the Fittest then winning Spartan Beast by a huge margin this last weekend.

This is a great end to Andrea's second season in the league, after she was pipped to the league title last season by Freya Martin.

Spring 2017 Season Men's Champion -
Tristan Steed (Team Muddy Kit)

There has been no doubt all season that Tristan Steed would be walking away with the league win after he scored convincing victories and maximum points at each of the three races he took on.

This is Tristan's second Mudstacle League title in two seasons.

Tristan SteedSpring 2017 Season Ladies' Masters Champion -
Laura Heywood (Muddy Race)

Another extremely hard worker, firefighter Laura Heywood raced six events this season and podiumed at all except one (which was Toughest where she came 1st Brit). Her best result of the season was the Spartan Super, where she used her incredible strength to overtake Andrea Berquez on the very final obstacle of a very brutal course and clinched the win.

Not only does Laura finish as first in the ladies' masters table, she also came third overall which is a true testament to her strength and speed in what has been one of the most competitive seasons ever in the Mudstacle ladies league.

Laura has now come first twice and second once in the three seasons she's been in the Mudstacle league.

Jason Burgess (Mudstacle Machines)

Jason Burgess is in a league of his own in the master's league. In his five league races this season, he's scored two firsts and two seconds overall, plus came tenth at Toughest London (first over 40, fourth Brit and only 40 seconds behind Conor Hancock). This is Jason's second season racing OCR, coming from a fell racing background. This year he's been working hard at grip and upper body strength which showed at Toughest, where he got around the whole technical course, doing most of the fast lanes and achieving them all without a single penalty.

For the second season running, Jason has won the masters table and also hit the top three in the overall men's table. This time coming second to Tristan.

All four of the above league champions are travelling out to Canada to take on the OCR World Championships this October. Two of them haven't been to a major international competition like this before, so watch out world!

Spring 2017 Season Team Champion -
The Mudstacle Machines

The Mudstacle Machines are a force to be reckoned with. Every one of the eight members who have raced three or more races this season has ended up in the top five in their age category.

The team are incredibly consistent as well and haven't just relied on a handful of top results to see them through. Of the 45 scoring results that the team have clocked up this season, an astonishing 30 of them have been podium results (including 11 wins) and a further 11 of them have been in the top ten.
