Commando Series is returning to service in 2018. After this themed event stayed true to form last year with a memorable Armistice service, we’ve been waiting with baited breath to see whether it is coming back, and they are indeed back with a bang.

Not content with putting on a run, which sees beginners and experienced racers face their fears and step up to personal challenges, the team at Commando Series are upping the ante with a full on survival experience. That’s a 3-hour exercise in nearby caves where you will learn the skills of fire making, foraging and ensuring you can find clean water, amongst other survival techniques. Armed with a new set of skills and an ability to think outside the box, you’ll be a much more competent Commando.

There are also other experiences on offer to allow you to fully immerse yourself into the Commando theme, and remember these events are run in association with the actual Royal Marines, so they know what they’re talking about. Check out the different experiences on offer, from the Gold standard survival course to authentic bivouac camping right here.

In terms of the 6k and 12k races, Commando work in quite a unique way, asking competitors to identify themselves according to the level of punishment they want from a course. The levels are: 1. Treat me like a Commando, 2. Just get me through, and 3. We are family. This means hard core racers can get the most out of themselves and the terrain, where they will encounter replicas of official Royal Marine test courses, while novices and whole families can enjoy building their confidence and team spirit, all in the same place.

From the second you park up, leave your civilian ways in your car and become, through being daubed with camo paint, (temporarily) tattooed, registered and officially warmed up, a Commando. Take your orders, and leave it all out on this picturesque but appropriately punishing course.

If you want to be in with a chance to take a team of 5 to this year’s Commando series on either the 10th or 11th November, just answer this question below and we’ll be in touch after the closing date of April 17th. Good luck!
