Since Spartan teased that they would be bringing a stadion race to the UK last week, people have been guessing at it's location. It was announced today that Spartan will be coming to the home of England Rugby, Twickenham.

Registrations are open now and you had better be quick because Spartan are expecting the event to be a sell-out, with over 8,000 expected to take on this unique Spartan challenge. The setting will also offer those supporting friends and family the perfect vantage point to watch the action unfold. A venue that has seen many incredible sporting moments over the years will now play host to the biggest obstacle race series on the planet.

Stairs and Sandbags, a match made by Spartan

Spartan General Manager for UK and Ireland Sam Lansdale said: “We are all absolutely thrilled to bring the Spartan Stadion Race to the home of England Rugby. This will be one of the biggest sporting events to break onto the scene in London and it marks a significant milestone for Spartan Race as a brand.”

Racers will be delighted to hear that Spartans infamous Burpee Penalty has been reduced from 30 to 15 to keep the action as fast paced as possible. The Stadion will also feature a number of challenges and obstacles not found at their previous events. We will see some Cross-fit style elements such as Box Jumps alongside more traditional obstacles, and lets not forget those stairs.

We are very excited that the Stadion is coming to the UK this November. Twickenham will hopefully lead to a full series of Stadion events taking in more of the UK's iconic sporting venues in 2020.
