After the success of the new year long league format in 2019 we have decided to continue with the format in 2020. So that means your top 5 results will count towards your league score this year. Kicking off in March at the brutal Winter Nuts the full 2020 calendar can be found here!

2019 provided us with a fantastic battle in both the Men's and Women's tables. It came down to the last race of the season at the Nuclear Challenge Cup, a difference of just 1 point saw Team Nuts Mark Dickson pip James Burton of Nuclear Phoenix to the title and complete a reMARKable Master's and Men's double. For the women Andrea Berquez took the title securing top spot with only 5 league events attended.

2020 promises to be a fantastic battle yet again;

In the Women's League, last seasons champion Andrea Berquez looks to be the woman to beat yet again. She is sure to face tough competition though from the like of fellow Spartan Pro, and Mudstacle Machine, Natasha Mansell. Nicki Johnson will be wanting to go one better than her second place last year and after a strong finish to 2019 winning both the Spartan Stadion and Nuclear Chalenge cup in dominant fasion she could well be in a position to do so. Other Names that could be in the mix are Becky Rendell and Laura Heywood, it would be great to see some new names competing and challenging in the womens tables this year too.

For the Men it will be interesting to see if Mark can defend his titles this year as we sure James will have him in his sights after missing out so narrowly last time. There is also a buzz that Conor Hancock may be making a return to the UK OCR scene and he will surely be the favourite if he does. Daniel Titcomb will surely want another crack after leading the league for the opening months of 2019, likewise Dasos Gonella who dropped down the table after an impresive start last time out.

In the masters Leagues it is hard to look past Mark Dickson and Laura Heywood who both stormed to their respective titles in dominant fashion. Carl Holyoak had a strong season with Spartan last year but may need to diversify a little to pick up more bonus points this time round. Daniel Corner could also be a threat, not just for Mark's Masters title but for the Men's league too. Rebecca Cohen will want to try and close the gap on Laura this year but it is hard to see anyone reeling in that's points tally this year.

Obstacle Mud Runner Magazine took the Team Championship in 2019, helped by countin both of our women's champions among their ranks. Nuclear Phoenix and the Mudstacle Machines were not too far behind though, some more diversity among their race calendars could help them challenge again this year.

One thing is for sure, it's going to be another great season in the mud!
