Hi Luke,
Start times for Tough Mudder are pretty relaxed, or they used to be, as I have gone in different time waves to run with mates, or, later ones if I arrive late.
Saying that, 07:00 sounds very early, think the normal start time is about 08:30, but not 100% sure.
With the running, yep, you are on track for the fitness level, I’d make it…[Read more]

Hi All,
Just a mad man, I have just entered the Dirty Double at next years dirty weekend, has anyone done one of these before, I have done the normal Dirty Weekend three times now, wondering if anyone has any tips for the double, and nothing like, don’t do it, I will do both laps, just want to reduce the amount of pain I’ll be in half way round…[Read more]

Sorry dude I was joking, never ever would use football boots, as it’s a bit of a crap game!!! I was just wondering what sort of kit is needed for an 8 hour event which is over night.
I’ve done quite a few events now, but never an 8 hour one, do I take extra clothes, tent, sleeping bag so I can get my head down if needed, do I need a little…[Read more]

Hi All,
Anyone looking to do Toughest Mudder next year, just wondering what sort of kit I would need, as I’ve never done this type of event before.
Got some swimming trucks and football boots, not much else is needed is there?

Hi Steven,
Welcome to the awesomest team in the world, bar none!!!
I think it’s on all, as you enter the discount code on the payment page, and the discount is taken off then.
But, as I’m a saddo and only enter solo, I wouldn’t know!!!

Well done Ruth!!!!!
I know that feeling very well, doing a little whoop of joy when your on top of the wall, and then having a massive grin on your face when you continue running after the obstacle.
The heel-hook is a godsend in obstacles

Lee Mortimer replied to the topic Best sports tape for feet? in the forum Fitness, training and injuries 4 years, 10 months ago
Hi Sophie,
Might sound strange, but have you tried putting on two pairs of socks, one will move with the foot the other will move with the shoe, I do it with any run which includes getting my feet wet as it cuts out any blisters, but I’ve never had bunions so I’m not sure this would work.
I did used to tape my feet years and years ago, but ever…[Read more]

Tough Mudder was my first OCR as well, so I did have a soft spot for them, however, the price increase and the distance from my home is just too much for me to take now, my last one will be in April and it will be my 10th, to make matters worse, I just got an email saying I need to shell out another £15 for parking!
I really enjoy the events,…[Read more]

Lee Mortimer replied to the topic Electric shock obstacles – is there a place for them? in the forum General Discussion 4 years, 11 months ago
See, I’m 50/50 on this, where as I hate the whole electric shock obstacles, and I really mean HATE, I still see it as an obstacle to overcome, I don’t see it as a manly tough thing that if I don’t do it I’m thought any less of, I just see it as something which I need to overcome.
I’m more than happy to skip them, as I did on my last Tough Mudder,…[Read more]

Hi Patrick,
The electric shock obstacles are not that painful, it’s more of a ‘shock’ and not natural thing to happen to your body, TM removed electric eel from the 2015 events, in the UK anyway, not sure about the reset of the world.
If you don’t want to do the electric obstacles you always have the option to bypass them, but I always see it as…[Read more]

I’m hoping that if people go along to the events and then say how good they were, just like Mucky Races this weekend, then that will make others want to try it out, then the company gets bigger.
But then, does that mean they will start driving their price up as well???
Doing my last ever TM next year, as they are getting far too expensive, I was…[Read more]

Completely agree, I did Mucky Races this weekend, paid £28 for the 10k course, yes there weren’t a tonne of obstacles, but there was a lot of water and mud, and, to top it all, free parking, they just ask for a donation, which gets given to charity, you get free photo’s, as they are pushed to facebook, a good t-shirt, and a medal which is…[Read more]

I’m in the same boat, I have done Tough Mudder twice, Dirty Weekend and Nuclear Blackout this year, Dirty Weekend I still feel is worth every penny as it is awesome, but then to throw an extra £10 for parking always gets my goat, still cheaper than TM, at £16+ before the event, £20 on the day is a bit too much!
Nuclear was free parking and ha…[Read more]
